The PRoF Chair Award
Initiated by the first holder, Dr. Renaat Peleman, the PRoF Chair organizes a yearly competition for innovative, healthcare applications that are a perfect match with the 8 PRoF values: comfort, privacy, security, anti-loneliness, non-stigmatizing solutions, intergenerational, respect and flexibility.
Academic researchers and start-ups are encouraged to enter their proof of concepts that may significantly improve patients’ well-being. The ProF Chair particularly welcomes:
An interdisciplinary jury, chaired by former President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, selects the top 3 innovative projects. The laureates are invited to present their project at an international symposium organised by PRoF. During this symposium, the jury selects the final winner, who is then invited to the following edition of the PRoF Chair Awards to present the intermediate results of his or her concept.
Among the past winners of the PRoF Chair Awards are state-of-the-art care applications such as a toolkit for perinatal mental health or an inventive way of enhancing both physical and mental activity
